Admission Information

Criteria For International Applicants

 An international student is a foreign-born person who is not a citizen, national, or permanent resident of the Republic of India but holds valid statutory document as proof of citizenship of the issuing country. All applicants/candidates holding the passport issued by foreign countries including people of Indian origin (who have acquired the nationality of foreign country) are treated as foreign students.

 

Eligibility

 Any International candidate willing to study at DSVV, must be eligible enough to take admission in the mentioned courses.

 For graduation and 6 months Certificate courses, a candidate must have completed an intermediate degree from recognized school/college of their country.

 For Masters and Post Graduate Diploma course, a candidate must have completed a graduate course from any recognized University.

 

Fee Structure

 Opted Course Semester Fee + $150 (Application and Admission Procedure Fees) is the payable amount for each semester.

 Fees includes accommodation charges and 2 time vegetarian simple meals.

 Fees can be accepted after the arrival and confirmation of the admission of the candidate.

 Fees can be acceptable by cash and online mode of payments.

 Once the fee is deposited in the Accounts Department, it will be compulsory for the students to deposit the copy of receipt to IRO also.

 

Financial Assistance

Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya also offers following scholarship to the International applicants:

Pt. Sriram Sharma Acharya Scholarship: It is meant for those international students, who can prove that they need a financial assistance for their studies and are willing to contribute as a volunteer in return. Selection for this scholarship is based on personal interview by the university designated officials and a fee waiver of up to 20% could be given. Only those students, who have secured the admission, could be considered for this scholarship.

Admission Process

Office of the Pro Vice Chancellor and International Relations Office (IRO) of the Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya (DSVV) are the nodal points for the application process of the international students. International students will generally be admitted twice in the year; i.e. January and July for the respective semesters.

The undergraduate admissions are based on merit and grades obtained in the qualifying examination (equivalent to the 10+2 examinations of India). International students seeking admission to the Post Graduate programmes should have a degree equivalent to Indian Undergraduate Degree.

The students applying for admission as an International exchange student or as an Erasmus applicant should follow the steps as agreed in the collaboration signed by the Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya with their University.

 

Steps are - 

Step 1 - Fill the application form by the following process - Interested applicants can fill the Application Form Online by following the given link : Apply Now

Step 2 - Attach the following documents - 

  1.  Transcript of the marks/grade sheet of the qualifying examination as issued by the authority/institution.
  2. Certifies copy of the grade equivalent to the marks by Boards/Schools
  3. A scanned copy of the passport.
  4.  Proof of NRI/OCI/PIO status, if applicable
  5. 2 Passport size photographs (recent)
  6. Letter of recommendation from 2 referees (referees may be the or previous employer, head of the institution, professor, teacher who is well acquainted with the applicant with whom he/she has spent at least two years)
  7.  Application fee (150 USD) or equivalent Indian Rupees in the form of a bank draft/cashier’s check in favor of ‘Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya’ (If paid in Indian rupees then the draft should be payable at Haridwar)
  8.  A copy of the Medical Insurance
  9.  English Language Proficiency Certificate
  10. Statement of Purpose (not more than 500 words)

Step 3 - Attach results of qualifying examination -  If the final marks/ results of the qualifying examinations are available by the time of filling the application, then attach the results. Candidates are expected to send their final results to the University as soon as it is available to them to ascertain their eligibility. The application will be considered only if the marks/grades are made available to the University within the stipulated time. The application/enrolment shall be considered void in case the result obtained by the candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria laid down by DSVV.

Step 4 - Processing of application -  When the application is received, the candidate will be sent a letter of acknowledgement with an application number. Students will also be intimated if any additional information is required to ensure their eligibility for the applied course programme. Applicants have to appear for an in-person (if in India) or online interview in front of Pro Vice Chancellor or a nominated member by him before the admission is offered to the candidate. The decision of the Pro Vice Chancellor shall be treated final.

Step 5 - Eligibility validation -  Once the eligibility is validated, the admission pack with all the necessary information will be sent to the candidate. The admission pack shall contain one prospectus, the letter of acknowledgement with an application number, profiles of the management, UGC notification, and a copy of the letter from the Pro Vice Chancellor to the ambassador/consul. After receiving the admission pack, student shall proceed to the Indian Embassy in their native country to obtain the student VISA as per laid procedure and norms. Once the student visa is obtained by the student they shall immediately contact on the given email addresses to notify the authorities with their detailed itinerary to the University administration.

Step 6 - Confirmation of admission - Students are advised to reach the University Campus 1-2 days prior to the commencement of the invocation ceremony/classes and report to the Office of Pro Vice Chancellor. They would then be required to submit their official or original documents as listed in the admission letter. They would then be asked to appear in a test of English proficiency and undergo a medical examination. Thereafter candidates will be issued an ‘Admission Order‘. Only after the admission formalities are completed, students will be permitted to move into the allotted hostels. The admission of a candidate shall only be confirmed after the receipt of the ‘Admission Order’. If the candidate is unable to clear the English Proficiency Test or clear the medical examination, he/she may not be accepted for the program. In this case, the local authorities would be informed and the procedure to deport the candidate maybe initiated.

Step 7 - Registering with FRRO - It is mandatory that all foreign students holding foreign citizenship have to register with the Foreigner’s Residence Registration Office (FRRO) within the stipulated time frame of their arrival in India. A student who is a PIO/OCI Card holder is also required to register with the FRRO. Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya will provide the necessary assistance in this regard.

1.How do I apply for any course?

You can apply by filling out an online application form, which can be found here . Prior to submission of online application form, please go through the Admissions Process here.

 

2. Can I apply for a course if I am already enrolled as a student at another University?

No, you cannot. The Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya also does not accept transfer of students. If you wish to follow an undergraduate course at the Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya campus, then you are required to start the course from the beginning.

 

3. Do I need an English Language qualification to apply for admission?

If English is not your first language, you need to submit evidence of your English Language Proficiency. The decision of possible exemption from this requirement lies with the University Authorities.

 

4. In which file format, do I attach documents to my application form?

All documents should be uploaded either as PDF / JPG / JPEG / PNG format files. Each document should not be larger than 5MB.

 

5. What should I include in my Statement of Purpose?

You have to submit a SOP (Statement of purpose) wrapped in 500 words as part of your online application form. It should explain your motivation to study in DSVV and the specific reason to select the respective course.

 

6. Can I change the referee details in the online graduate application form?

Once a referee has been registered, it is not possible to change their details online. However, you can email us at international@dsvv.ac.in stating the reason to do so and we would revert on the same.

 

7. Can I apply for more than one course in the same admission year?

No, you cannot. One cannot apply for more than ONE full-time regular courses at DSVV.

 

8. Do I need to send the original hard copies of documentation by post?

There is no need for you to post the hard copies of online application form or the documents. However, you have to bring all the hardcopies when you personally come to DSVV campus.

 

9. What documents are required to be submitted along with online application form?

10. Can I correct an error after I have submitted my online application form?

Yes, you can login with your login credentials and modify the form as many times as you wish. But once you click the ‘final submission’ button, it will not be possible to make any changes to your application form thenceforth. Thus, kindly review the form prior to clicking the ‘final submission’ button.

 

11. Can I submit my online application form before I’ve received my English Language Proficiency Test results?

Yes, you may submit your online application form without the English Language Proficiency test results. However, you may email us your test results, as soon as you receive them, at international@dsvv.ac.in.

 

12. What happens to my application status if my references are delayed?

For your application to be considered for admission, the University requires you to submit a minimum of two references by the prescribed deadline for the respective course. If your references are not in place, your application is unlikely to be considered. However, the final decision lies with the university authorities.

 

13. What should I do if I forget my username/password while submitting the online application form?

Please visit the online application form login page and click the ‘Forgot your password’ button and follow the steps given there after. After doing this, an automated email will be sent to the registered email ID to reset your password and retrieve access to your online application form. If you still cannot locate your application confirmation email please contact us.

 

14. How can I find my course name and code?

You can find your course code on the website here.

 

15. Can I delete or cancel my application after online submission?

No, you cannot delete your online application form once it is finally submitted. However, it will be automatically deleted after one month duration from the final admission procedure completion date.

 

16. Can I submit my online application for graduate studies without reference letters?

Yes, you may submit your online application form without reference letters in case they aren’t available at the time of online submission. It remains your responsibility to ensure your referees have submitted their references by the deadline. Kindly note, the references will be taken into consideration only after the reference letters are duly received by the International Relations Office.

 

17. What should I do if my transcript is not in English?

You may get it translated and it must be certified i.e. duly signed and stamped by your Institution. Any non-English transcripts without a translation will lead to the rejection of your application form.

 

18. Does the Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya provide any scholarship?
